MPRC DISCUSSION NIGHT
The MPRC holds public discussions on random subjects pertaining to paganism and/or alternative beliefs every first Thursday of the month (except July and August). The structure remains open and informal where every opinion is welcomed

Let's discuss: - How aging impacts our paganism/spirituality/beliefs; - How we saw our spirituality younger versus how we expect to see it in the future; - How humanity's beliefs changed throughout time; - New Age Spirituality versus the Ways of the Old; - How do we expect general paganism/spirituality/religion to mutate in the future.
CMS Level 1 (Hobbes)
Crescent Moon School begins its level 1 program in magic and Paganism. This level teaches foundational information and theory for basic energy work, elements, tools, colors, sabbats, esbats, deities around the world and more. It runs every Wednesday for 20 weeks. Fees include 3 workbooks and a reading pack. Students are asked to bring a notebook and a binder to class.
Wednesdays, starting September 8th 6-9pm for 20 weeks $300 ($100 every 6 weeks with the first payment due before September 3rd)
CMS Level 2 (Scarlet)
Crescent Moon continues its foundational training with a blend of theory and practice in religions of the world, ritual basics, understanding magical philosophy, stones, herbs, animals, energy sensing and psychic protection, and much more. It runs every Wednesday for 24 weeks. Fee includes a reading pack.
Wednesdays, starting September 8th 6-9pm for 24 weeks $375 ($125 every 8 weeks with the first payment due before September 3rd)

Reiki Level One (Robyn)
Join us in this intensive course to learn all you need to know to become a First Degree Reiki Practitioner. Topics covered will include: the history and origins of Reiki, the ethics of being a Reiki practitioner, what the hand positions are in a full Reiki session, how to treat others as well as yourself, and formal initiation to the Usui Shiki Ryoho style of Reiki. Time will be given for practice as well.

Rune Lore (Kieth Galbraith)
Learning Germanic Runes for reading and empowerment. Course to include mythology, explanation of the 24 individual runes of the Elder Futhark and various forms of modern divination practices. For beginners; experienced readers also welcome.

Reiki II (Robyn)
This course is only open to Reiki practitioners who have already received their First Degree of Reiki. Topics covered will include Reiki symbols and their uses, long-distance treatments, mental/emotional healing treatments, mind-to-mind techniques, chakra harmonization, Crystal grids and and formal initiation to the second degree of the Usui Shiki Ryoho style of Reiki using the American Reiki Mastery Association's style of initiations.

Metal and Magic (Helmut)
Thirty years of making ritual tools, research and experimentation have taught me that when it comes to metal, magic follows a predictable pattern of behaviour linked to its physical state. In this workshop, I will describe these properties and how they affect the ritual and magical use of metal for today’s practitioners.
Helmut started blacksmithing forty years ago, and this year celebrates his thirtieth year of making metal work for the pagan community.

Melange Magique's Annual Yule Fair
Saturday - Sunday December 4th & 5th
Yule and Christmas can sometimes be a mixed bag of gifts. Snow is on the way, the pressures of holiday shopping can reach frenetic levels, and the promise of visiting relatives and far-flung friends can be a joyful thought, but maybe tinged with some dread. For us, the promises of Yule include all those things, but it also gives us a chance to reconnect with our traditional family of friends that we see during the Yule Fair. The Concordia University Pagan Society (CUPS) started the first Yule Fair and ran it successfully for five years. Since then, the MPRC and Melange Magique have taken up its tradition, providing a place where pagan friends can congregate in a familiar spot, socialize and share, and exchange warm wishes for the season. Call us corny if you must, but we find great comfort in that idea, which is why it’s such a pleasure to bring this event to you. We hope that you enjoy all the activities, lectures, vendors, and friends that you will meet and reconnect with during this Yule Fair.

Scarlet...Scarlet obtained her BA in Classics and Anthropology and Certification in Journalism, Graphic Design and Technical Communication, and recently added a BA Honours Religion degree to her repertoire. In 1994, she founded the Concordia University Pagan Society (CUPS) in an effort to develop awareness of this diverse spirituality. That same year, she began the Crescent Moon School, which has experienced several evolutions since. On the public front, Scarlet has published articles and poetry and run a local magazine (WynterGreene) on alternative spirituality. The Montreal Gazette, Pulse News, Jeu De Société, Second Regard, Eros, and several radio stations and magazines have interviewed her. Today she volunteers at the Montreal Pagan Resource Center and focuses her time on completing her Masters degree in Religion: concentrating an East Asian and Contemporary Wiccan religions. |
| Robyn ...From the time she was very young, Robyn was drawn to alternative healing and different spiritualities, believing even as a child that they all held a universal truth to them. Frustrated with conventional medicine, Robyn sought out alternative solutions for her own health as well as that of her family. Robyn took her first degree of Reiki in the spring of 2004, which was quickly followed by her second degree. In the summer of 2005 Robyn opened her own clinic, Montreal Reiki, for the first time and fell completely in love with the experience of giving Reiki treatments to others. Robyn achieved her Reiki Mastery (third degree) from the Usui Shiki Ryoho Lineage in October of 2007 and immediately dove into teaching Reiki to others. Robyn offers monthly courses of Reiki Level One, and Reiki level Two every other month. Robyn's future plans are to help grow a stronger base of Reiki practitioners within Montreal by hosting Reiki sharing sessions, as well as Q&A evenings so as to help those seeking to do Reiki on others can grow in experience and style. | DAVE Weekday Mornings 11:00 am to 1 pm I have been a practicing witch since my early 20's, both as a solitary and in a coven. I practice both traditional witchcraft & ceremonial magick. I have an abiding interest in magickal herbalism, stone & crystal lore, kabbalah & divination. I have been called upon to do tarot readings for friends, at public rituals and events such as the various charity fairs and workshops for Concordia University Pagan Society and even the Masons. For tarot readings I use either the Rider-Waite or the Thoth deck and I may do a pendulum scrying for further clarification (client's choice). Currently I am studying The Runes, crystal ball & mirror scrying. |
